Plan Management
What does an NDIS plan manager do?
A Plan Manager is someone who can manage your NDIS funding on your behalf. Plan Managers have specialised skills in managing NDIS funding, and can help you by:
Paying and managing invoices from your service providers
Keeping track of what you’ve spent, making sure you’re 100% clear on where you’re up to with your funding; and
Creating regular, accurate records of where your funds have been allocated.
Plan Management and the NDIS
The upside of the NDIS system is that you are free to allocate your funding wherever you think it will be best used. With this flexibility, however, comes the requirement for to demonstrate you are able to manage your plan.
There are three options available to manage NDIS funding:
You can agency manage: This is where the NDIS are responsible for your funding. You choose from a range of registered suppliers, and these suppliers will make a claim for payment directly to the NDIS.
You can self-manage: This means you take total responsibility for your funding. You screen and select registered or unregistered service providers, manage their payment as well as claiming benefits from the NDIS.
You can engage a Plan Manager: This is where Cumberland Care can help. We’ll pair you with an expert who can help you navigate the NDIS system, select registered or unregistered providers, and take over the responsibility of managing your budget ensuring the funds go the distance over the course of the year.
